Sunday June 15th
Upon arrival in Athens International Airport a meet and greet service is arranged for your transportation to the Athens Intercontinental Hotel (www.ihg.com). Hospitality-info desk at the Intercontinental from 10.00 - 19.00. Welcome reception at 19.00




Monday June 16th
After breakfast we start our day with a visit to Acropolis "rock", a world heritage monument, followed by a private visit to the New Acropolis Museum (Museum opens only for Piedmont Society), where we enjoy our Greek lunch. Afterwards, for the members, a special 3 hours (16.00 – 19.00), scientific program is scheduled to take place at the new research premises of “OREC”, at the University Hospital “Attiko”. The accompanying persons can either return to the hotel (15.30) or can explore the "Shopping down town Athens". Return to the hotel at about 19.00.




Tuesday June 17th
Optional full day tour (08.30 – 19.00) to Hydra island.
Full day tour with a special private cruise and lunch. We encourage everyone to sign up for this exciting tour. Hydra is the most impressive island in the Argo-Saronic Gulf. The town is constructed on the slopes of a hill around a port and impresses visitors at first sight with the elegant stone mansions. The special thing about Hydra Island is that cars and other motor vehicles are entirely prohibited in all the island, so all transport is done on foot, by boat or riding a donkey. Our cruise will start at 09.00 with a stop at the small island of Moni, where we can enjoy the crystal blue sea of Saronic Golf, swim and explore the surpising small island. On our way to Hydra we will enjoy lunch sailing near the beautiful cost and the island of Poros. In Hydra we will have time to visit the local Museum and the town. On our sail back we enjoy the sunset, with snacks and coffee on board. Arriving at hotel about 20.30    Cost 90€ per person.
  


Wednesday June 18th
After breakfast we will fly to Heraklion, Crete’s main airport. Upon arrival we will join a guided tour to the ancient site of Knossos, land of the Minoan Civilization. Lunch basket will be offered. After your visit, will drive by bus (75 km) to Blue Palace Resort & Spa Hotel (www.bluepalace.gr) at Elounda area, a destination and a hotel that offer excellent and high class services. Afternoon scientific session at 17.00 -20.00. Reception at 20.30 followed by dinner at 21.00. 

 


Thursday June 19th
Piedmont Scientific and Social program day. Executive Committee Meeting 07.00 - 08.00, Scientific program 08.00 - 12.30. Spinaloga Tours 14.00 - 15.30 and 16.00 - 17.30  Reception at 19.30, dinner at 20.00, BEACH YOUTH PARTY  22.00-00.30.




Friday June 20th
Piedmont Scientific and Social program day. Executive Committee Meeting 07.00 - 08.00, Scientific program 08.00 - 12.30. Spinaloga tours 14.00 - 15.30 and 16.00 - 17.30. Reception at 19.30 Farewell dinner at 20.00


Saturday June 21st 
Departure day back to USA. Transportation to Heraklion Airport for the flight to Athens. 

Spinaloga Island Tour

Spinaloga island tours with private English quide will be organised during the meeting days Thursday 19th & Friday 20th. You can reserve upon your arrival the day and time you wish, to visit the historic island opposite Elounda.  



Local services are provided by CTM International Travel Agency and are valid from Athens airport on June 15th and end at Heraklion airport on June 21st, including the one way air ticket from Athens to Heraklion Crete.

IMPORTANT! Each individual participant should make the appropriate flight arrangements arriving to Athens (ATH) and departing from Heraklion (HER).
