Dear colleagues,

For more than 40 years, the Hellenic Societies of Hand Surgery & Reconstructive Microsurgery have been the scientific meeting place for Surgeons (Orthopaedics and Plastics) with a passion for the respective disciplines. This uninterrupted course has established them as Institutions with prestige and credibility in the continuing medical education of both their Members and Orthopaedic and Plastic Surgeons as well as Doctors of related specialties with an interest in developments in the field.

In line with this tradition and with a sense of responsibility, we are organizing our 29th Joint Conference in Chania, returning after almost 20 years to the welcoming island of Crete. Our goal is to highlight all the developments in our field in a Conference with added scientific value but also with opportunities for personal interaction between the participants in a relaxed and rewarding educational activity.

A characteristic of the Conference is its International Perspective as it is co-organized and hosts members of the American Association for Hand Surgery (AAHS) and Greek-Americans Surgeon members of the Hellenic American Hippocratic Society as well as other distinguished International Speakers. At the same time, our ambition is for both the local medical community and younger colleagues to be active in this.

Ultimately, however, what determines the success of a conference is the contribution of each participant, so we invite you to submit your research activity as well your experience and your reflections in each session in a fruitful scientific dialogue.
