Dear Colleagues,
Dear Friends,

I welcome you to Athens, which will host another OTC (Osteosynthesis and Trauma Care) Hellas Course on the subject: LOCKING NAILING.

The Course  will be held on April  20th & 21st, 2024 at the Auditorium of Evaggelismos Hospital in Athens. The specific course is an international one and English will be the formal language. As such, we expect attendees to come not only from Greece but also from Eastern Europe.

The present Course program is designed to address the basic principles of  intramedullary nailing, technical difficulties, tips and tricks and new technologies of the method.

Honorary guest to the specific Course will be Dr. Gilbert Taglang from Strasbourg France, who is also President of the AIOD (Association Internationale pour l' Ostéosynthèse Dynamique)  Foundation. His knowledge and experience are valuable and indispensable and his role will be instrumental for another successful course.

Our goal is a creative two days seminar in which young colleagues will have the opportunity to be intensively trained through focused workshops in the technique of intramedullary nailing from experienced surgeons from multiple major Greek hospitals. The knowledge and experience of specialized colleagues, aside that of  Dr Taglang, will provide the opportunity to discuss and clarify issues concerning the application of the intramedullary nailing method and its possible complications. The program also includes “live surgery” and interactive analysis and discussion of difficult cases related to intramedullary nailing.

The active participation of all will be a motivation to organize similar educational activities in the future. I look forward to welcoming you at the Course.

With my best greetings,

Christina  Arnaoutoglou, MD, PhD, FIOTA
Head Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon
Department of Orthopaedic Surgery and Musculoskeletal Trauma
